Every woman wants to look and feel beautiful, but using scores of masks, lotions, creams is difficult on the body and the purse strings. These products can not only break your bank, they can also needlessly expose you to a slew of chemicals. I believe in keeping things simple and cheap. There is no need to go shopping at Macy’s, Bare Minerals if you can achieve the same effect by heading to the grocery store. I have compiled a few natural beauty recipes below to help you begin your natural beauty routine. However, there are plenty more natural beauty recipes that are just a search engine click away.

For more natural beauty tips, check out the second post of natural beauty recipes and third post of natural beauty recipes as well coffee beauty tips and beer beauty recipes, too!

1.) Brown Sugar and Honey Facial Scrub

This is my favorite recipe! Brown sugar exfoliates the skin cleansing the pores of all dirt, oil and dead skin cells, all of which cause blemishes. Honey is naturally antibacterial, so while the brown sugar scrubs away the the buildup in the pores, the honey cleans out the sources of the buildup to prevent future breakouts.

2.) Coffee Grounds in Conditioner

I love this one because it reuses otherwise discarded materials in a very beneficial way. Instead of throwing old coffee grounds away, toss them into your conditioner to add extra sheen to your hair. Coffee grounds add moisture, making it stronger and shinier.

3.) Replace Conditioner with Vinegar

To get rid of the usual problems with hair (buildup, dullness and general lackluster), replace your conditioner with vinegar one to four times per month. The frequency of use depends on your hair type, so just use it as you need it. Do not be concerned with buying the best stuff in order to achieve the best results. Common white vinegar will do the trick as well as apple cider vinegar or otherwise.

4.) Olive Oil as Hair Moisturizer

It is easy to understand how oil can moisturize your hair. It is just as simple to use as well. Simply cover your hair in olive oil and leave it in for 30-45 minutes. You can also cover your hair in plastic wrap to prevent the olive oil from dripping. Some say that using plastic wrap enhances the moisturizing effect.

5.) Lemon and Egg Facial

Do you have acne and red splotchiness on your face? Soothe both symptoms away easily by mixing together one egg yolk and the juice of one lemon into a paste. Cover your face with it and leave it on overnight. If this seems like too much time, try applying the mask to your face for one hour. You may not get the optimal results with this amount of time, but you should see a difference.

6.) Replace Conditioner with Baking Soda

Do you want to be more like a guy and only use one item to clean your hair? Then, add baking soda to your shampoo. It will remove buildup and add sheen to your hair. To top it off, if you have normal hair, you can use it everyday .

7.) Degrease Oily Hair With Lemons and Aloe

Mix together one tablespoon of lemon juice and one half teaspoon aloe vera. Mix the mixture in with a normal serving of shampoo. It should remove the oiliness in your hair with one shower.

8.) Smooth Frizzy Hair With Honey

Add one tablespoon of honey to a liter of water and shake or stir to combine. After shampooing, rinse your hair with this concoction to tame your frizz.

9.) Replace Face Wash With Skim Milk Powder

Swapping face wash with skim milk powder can make your face much softer and give you a smoother complexion. It is also very gentle, so even the most sensitive can use it.

10.) Moisturize Skin With Honey and Olive Oil

Honey holds moisture well and olive oil hydrates well, too. Mix equal parts of these two ingredients (some recommend a dash of lemon juice as well) to create a pasty lotion. Rub it onto the dry skin and let it sit for 10-20 minutes and then rinse. Your skin will be hydrated for the foreseeable future afterward.

11.) Soften Skin With Oatmeal

There are many concoctions and mask recipes which involve oatmeal, but you can also use oatmeal by itself to help soften your skin. Ground up one cup of oatmeal using a blender or coffee grinder and add it to bath water to soften skin to baby-like quality.

12.) Treat Chlorine-Damaged Hair

Mix together one egg, two tablespoons of olive oil and one fourth cup of a peeled cucumber. Coat your hair with the mixture and leave it on for ten to twenty minutes. You should see your hair return to its normal self almost immediately.

13.) Tone and Rebuild Skin With Avocados and Carrots

This recipe can work wonders. Combine one avocado, one cooked carrot, one half cup of heavy cream, one egg and three tablespoons of honey. Apply to your skin and let it sit for ten to twenty minutes and then rinse. These ingredients add a multitude of vitamins, antioxidants and calcium to rebuild natural collagen, tone skin and remove age spots. There is plenty to read about the benefits of each of these ingredients, but the sum is that each ingredient does a wealth of natural good to your body.

14.) Lemons or Oranges for Fine Hair Hairspray

Oranges offer a stronger hold, but only lemons can be used on dry and brittle hair. Chop up the entire piece of fruit in a bowl so as not to lose any juice. Boil the fruit with 2 cups of water until syrupy or to when the liquid has been significantly reduced. Strain the liquid through a cloth and pour into a spray bottle for use. The citrus will hold the hair and not damage it due to the fact that there is no alcohol.

15.) Apple Cider Vinegar for Cleanser and Toner

Apple cider vinegar eliminates dead skin cells easily, so you can use it in lieu of toner. Some can use this standalone daily, while others may need to dilute it with water. Just pay attention to the reaction of your skin after each use and use the concentration that works best for you.

Being beautiful can become expensive and damaging in the long run if you use products often. Consider using a few of these natural recipes before resorting to buying beauty products. If your body needs further attention afterward, then contemplate whether or not beauty products are the best option for your needs.
