Going home for the holidays is always an exciting, yet sometimes stressful time. Packing outfits that are comfortable and chic can be a bit of a challenge. I always try and stick to styles that are versatile enough to carry you from the dinner table to lounging on the couch watching football. As a brand ambassador for Cotton, I’m excited to share my favorite cotton rich pieces to pack up for Thanksgiving weekend, along with a few packing tips and tricks. I love wearing cotton, especially during the holidays, because it is super soft and easy to pack. Cotton rich clothing has at least 60% cotton in them {and jeans 90%}, so be sure to check your labels when shopping for fall. #1: A Dress For The Win No matter what, I always pack a cotton dress for Thanksgiving that can be worn with flats or heels. Whether your Thanksgiving Dinner is casual or more on the dressy side, cotton rich dresses can adapt to any occasion. All you have to do is dress up with heels, or dress down with flats. Heidi Merrick Catalan Ivory Dress Heidi Merrick dresses are a longtime favorite of mine because of the incredible fit. She's a local Los Angeles gal who has a very keen sense of designing pieces that are elevated, yet relaxed too. This way I can mix and match pieces easily. For example, this striped long sleeve top would look great with denim jeans, black pants, a blazer or even underneath a chunky sweater. You can easily wear pieces more than once if you get creative. Comme des Garcons Play Small Heart Striped Tee I've had this striped tee for over a year and it remains a favorite in my closet. It's super soft and doesn't wrinkle so it's perfect for packing. Not only is denim extremely easy to pack, but it’s the perfect piece of clothing to wear over and over again. Madewell The Jean Jacket in Ellery Wash This is my favorite jean jacket in the world. The more you wear it, the softer and more broken in it gets. I love wearing it with dressier outfits like white crisp button downs and black pants or just tossing it over a cute dress. If you really think about it, you probably wear the same flats and the same heels on repeat when you’re on a trip. Trust me, you only “need” one of each. #5: Keep it Crisp No matter what, you should always and forever have {and pack} a white cotton button down in your wardrobe. It can be worn in so many different ways and if you are ever stumped on what to wear, it’s the easiest piece to incorporate into an outfit. Thom Browne Oxford Shirt My motto: If you're going to wear something hundreds of times then it's worth it to pull the trigger on investing in a great piece such as this classic button down by Thom Browne. Stick to pieces that are more fitted and toss on a chunky knit sweater to pull off a relaxed, cozy look. Sincerely Jules Lux Skinny Cotton Jogger Pants Everytime I buy a new pair of joggers I live in them for weeks. Stay cozy and warm in these 100% cotton joggers over the Thanksgiving holiday.
